Japanese PM invited to visit Tunisia

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Migration and Tunisians Abroad, Othman Jerandi handed over a written message from President of the Republic Kais Saied to Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida, inviting him to visit Tunisia and participate in the work of the eighth edition of the Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 8), scheduled for August 27 and 28 in Tunisia.

Received in Tokyo by Hirokazu Matsuno, Secretary General of the Japanese Cabinet, the Minister of Foreign Affairs said on this occasion, that "Tunisia is committed to strengthening the historical relationship between the two countries, and boost bilateral cooperation in various areas especially as the two countries are preparing to celebrate the 66th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

During the meeting, Jerandi gave an overview of the preparations underway ahead of TICAD 8, reiterating the commitment of Tunisia to carry out this important event in order to meet the aspirations of the countries concerned, facing the major challenges facing Africa.

On this occasion, the Minister informed the Japanese officials of all the political and economic reforms carried out by President Kais Saied, ensuring that the democratic process is an " irreversible " choice.
